The Office of the Regional State Prosecutor of Region 1 headed by HON. NONNATUS CAESAR R. ROJAS conducted the Regional Staff Meeting on March 19, 2009 at the Sports and Cultural Center of Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.  The meeting was attended by Provincial and City Prosecutors, their Assistants, and Staff.

The City Prosecutor’s Office of Urdaneta City headed by City Prosecutor SILVESTRE REDEMPTOR A. RIDAO hosted the affair.

HONORABLE MAYOR PEREZ of Urdaneta City graced the affair.  He delivered the welcome address to the participants.  Mayor Perez is a dedicated supporter of the programs and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office.

RSP Nonnatus Caesar R. Rojas (Left topmost photo) presided over the meeting as the audience listened intently (topmost right photo).  The highlight of the meeting is the announcement that Region 1 ranks number 1 in performance in 2008.  The attendees were updated on personnel movement during the past months.  New appointments and promotions were also announced.

State Prosecutor GLENDA T. ORTIZ-SORIANO updated the group on matters of reporting as she demonstrated how to fill up the forms.  Soft copies of these forms were distributed to the heads of offices.

Assistant Regional State Prosecutor ZENY FERRER admonished the participants to maintain transparency in reporting.  She gave updates on administrative matters.

The venue and date of the next Regional Staff Meeting will be known after the National Convention of the Prosecutor’s Leauge of the Philippines in Cagayan de Oro City.

     The fog, mountain view, and the cold wind of Benguet once again captured the admiration of prosecutors and staff from Region 1 and CAR in the quarterly Regional Staff Meeting last November 20, 2008 in the scenic Riverview Resort in Asin, Tuba, Benguet.

     The No.1 Regional Prosecution Office in the entire Philippines took time as they plan, evaluate, and calibrate their performance to upgrade even higher their effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of services to the people. Also, the usual updating and disseminating of information was made by the Regional State Prosecutor. 

     Though it was a long drive for most prosecutors and staff from the different prosecution offices of Region 1, still, the attendance in the Regional Staff Meeting held at Terra Rika Hotel, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte last May 29, 2008 soared high.  They were awed by the beauty of the venue and scenic views along the way.  The sumptuous meal was prepared by the Host Office, OPP Ilocos Norte with the joint efforts of the neighboring Prosecution Office of OCP Laoag City and OCP Batac City.      The usual updating and disseminating of information was made by the Regional State Prosecutor.  He also announced that Region I prosecutors ranked FIRST in the performance evaluation nationwide for the whole year of 2007.  Region I now is number 1 in the entire country!  This is a first in the history of DOJ, Region 1.  The performance of each office in Region 1 were also discussed and compared with the RSP giving pointers to improve work accomplishment.

     RSP Rojas also informed about the untimely demise of Provincial Prosecutor of Benguet, Felix T. Cabading and extended his condolonces.  RSP Rojas likewise introduced  State Prosecutor II George H. Yarte from DOJ Manila as the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of OPP Benguet.

  Prosecutors and staff from the different prosecution offices of Region 1 and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) trooped to Katib Beach Resort, San Juan, Ilocos Sur last February 21, 2008 for the 1^st Quarter Regional Staff Meeting (RSM) with Ilocos Sur Provincial Prosecutor Jessica G. Viloria hosting the event and presided over by the Regional State Prosecutor, Nonnatus Caesar R. Rojas.

 RSM’s highlight was the launching of the official web/blog site of the Office of the Regional State Prosecutor with address www.dojregionaloffice1.wordpress.com. The site showcases different services such as news and updates, research materials and downloadable forms, etc.

 Also welcomed during the event is the newly appointed City Prosecutor of Batac City, Myra Sheila Nakupta-Barba, and other promoted prosecutors, namely: 3^rd APP Crispin Navalta, Jr., 4^th APP Christian Gregory O. Follosco of La Union, 3^rd ACP Rolando T. Vergara of Baguio City, 2^nd APP Ely Reintar, APA I Katherine Caragan of Pangasinan, and 3^rd ACP Paulyn Maurie A. Dela Cruz-Aquino of Dagupan City.

 To top it all, Region 1 was again named one of the top performing prosecution offices in the country for the third quarter of 2007 in terms of work accomplishment and performance. The region has been consistently in the list of top performing prosecution offices in the country as documented by the summary of national accomplishment issued officially by the Department of Justice, Manila.

 The RSM is a quarterly event that gathers prosecutors and staff for a general meeting and renew camaraderie among everyone.

Saoang, San Juan, Ilocos Sur.

Assistant Prosecutors including Associate Prosecution Attorneys, Administrative Officers and selected support staff are welcome to attend the meeting. Important issues will be discussed.
